The Journal of Congregational Song (formerly known as The Hymn) is a peer-reviewed journal of congregational song for church musicians, clergy, scholars, poets, and others with varied backgrounds and interests. A journal of research and opinion, containing practical and scholarly articles, the Journal of Congregational Song reflects diverse cultural and theological perspectives. The journal includes academic articles, hymn performance columns, book reviews, and official news of the Society. All members of The Hymn Society receive the digital edition through an email link. Members living in the U.S. and Canada may also receive the print edition for an additional annual charge of $15 to their membership dues. Current members may access both current and past issues of the journal at any time through the member portal. The Journal of Congregational Song is also accessible to scholars and researchers through an open-access agreement with the American Theological Library Association (Atla).
